Poker has become world famous lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years several types on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling 21 than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer declares "No more bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the other gamblers attain 5 cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you have to in turn make a call wager or give up. The call wager’s amount is on same level to your original bet, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your bet goes instantaneously to the house. After the wager is the conclusion. If the bank does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus an amount in accordance with the original bet. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The casino pony’s up chips even with your original bet and set expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
